Safety First. Safety Foremost.
Corridor Resources is committed to providing a healthy, safe and productive workplace and to protecting the health and safety of all individuals affected by our operations. Corridor ensures that appropriate safety policies and procedures are in place at all times at all of our facilities. Our safety program focuses on risk assessment, accident prevention and emergency preparedness and response. We ensure that employees have the appropriate equipment, tools and training necessary to conduct their jobs safely. We also place high importance on reporting and investigating of any incidents that occur on our work sites to identify corrective actions to prevent future recurrences.
Worker Safety Programs
Safety Plans are developed which include a broad spectrum of safe work polices, practices and procedures, providing clear instructions to workers.
Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Risk Control
This process is vital to Corridor’s successful safety management system. It involves assessing processes, work sites and job tasks to identify existing and potential hazards and risks and appropriate methods to effectively control or eliminate them.
Training and Competency
Corridor establishes training requirements for personnel based on regulatory and internal standards. The right procedures must be implemented by the right people with the appropriate competencies. In addition, Corridor provides a Health, Safety and Environment Field Orientation to all people who enter Corridor sites.
Communication is essential to maintain a safe work place and it is achieved in a variety of ways. For example, pre-job safety meetings and daily safety meetings provide effective communication of real and potential job safety hazards.
Public Safety Programs
Corridor communicates important information about its operations to the public in a number of different ways, including newsletters, liaison committees, website and landowner information packages.
Emergency Preparedness and Response
Emergency Response Plans are developed to effectively mitigate the impact of emergencies on people, the environment and property. These Plans provide clear instructions on the actions to be taken during an emergency. They are distributed to first responders and government agencies. Corridor conducts regular training to ensure that all personnel understand their roles and responsibilities.
