Community Engagement

Community Liaison Committee

Background

Corridor Resources is committed to working with the local communities in which it operates. During the New Brunswick Energy and Utilities Board (EUB) regulatory review process of Corridor's application to construct pipelines as part of the McCully Stage II Development Project, Corridor Resources formalized its commitment by stating in the Public Hearing on September 28-29, 2006, the intent to form a Community Liaison Committee. On October 17, 2006, the New Brunswick Energy and Utilities Board facilitated a meeting in Penobsquis between Corridor personnel and local residents to start this dialogue. On November 6, 2006, Corridor Resources held the first meeting of the Community Liaison Committee. Although the Committee started up during the construction phase of the Project, it was expected to continue throughout the operation of the gas plant and pipeline.

The mandate of the Community Liaison Committee is to provide a forum to share information between Corridor personnel and community members and to obtain community input and recommendations regarding safety and environmental issues within the Penobsquis area.
